Our one guarantee is every piece of Antler luggage comes packed with almost 100 years of expertise. Today&Antler in 2013 As an innovative, pioneering company we know we need to move with the times - so the Antler brand you see today is a new fresh, contemporary expression of what we stand for and believe in. Our new look is based on the flair and culture of British design and underpinned by our own rich heritage of craftsmanship. We're called Antler but we're confident enough not to think we have to show a pair of Antlers. We take our product very seriously but that doesn't mean we can't have a little fun along the way - recognising too a lot of journeys are for pure pleasure. Most of all we have a history and legacy to protect so we know provided we continue to produce products our customers keep coming back for, and do that with style, value and honesty that legacy is in safe hands. 1870& How it all began We actually began life as a leather goods company - our Founder J. Boultbee Brooks roamed the Midlands as a leather trader in the 1870's. He'd move his goods using the traditional transport of the day - a horse and cart, but his horse passed away and his keen eye for innovation led him to becoming an early adopter of the new 'safety bicycle'. Rickety 19th century paving and a hard seat made most journeys unbearable which led to Brooks inventing a new type of saddle - The Brooks Saddle which became hugely popular and achieved worldwide success. Saddlebags and panniers were soon developed. 1914&The next generation In 1914 Boultbee's son entered the passenger luggage market, producing leather wardrobe trunks for ocean voyages and unique motor trunks which were attached to cars. A keen interest in wildlife led to the adoption of the stag's head and Antler as a brand symbol for the luggage line - which has been used by the company up to this point in time. 1939&The war effort During the Second World War, through necessity Antler started producing haversacks, webbing belts and military equipment. After the war there was a return to the luggage business with innovation playing a part again with the development of soft sided luggage with rich quality linings 1950&Mass air travel Tourism boomed in the 1950's and Antler kept one step ahead with innovative products like 'Airstream' which combined soft and hard materials and fabrics in one suitcase. At the end of the 20th century we continued to forge ahead with new products, entering the hard luggage and suitcase market and introducing quality leather goods. We also played a key part in the roller case revolution which changed the way we get around today. And more recently, technical revolution and portable computing has given us the opportunity to put our experience and design skills into developing a range of products to meet the needs of today's mobile workforce. You&Us Past, present and future We've established a tradition for producing luxury, innovative luggage designed for lightness and strength without compromising quality and we continue to do that today with style and design flair, which makes Antler a leading brand of choice across all ranges of luggage and cases. We're an approachable company that likes to listen to its customers so if you want to get in touch you can do so in the following ways. We'd be happy to hear from you.
